"What the Mountain Saw" Philip Gross
Philip Gross, of whom I had never heard until just recently, may be entering my ranks of all-time favorites. With his poem "What the Mountain Saw" at the Guardian Blog.
Favorite lines:
The father is first awake. He clacks the shutters back
and a mountain squats square in the window, looking in.
But then, that is such a false sense of things, of the sheer weight and beauty of the whole. You must go and read it and reread it! Wonderful.
