Books Inq. reminds us of Cavalier Literary Couture --about which I posted last week or so.  However, I just saw this journal on the newstands for the first time, and while I can't vouch for the content, the journal itself is beautifully designed, and presented.  I hope it has a long and lasting life.

It's a shame that The Wondering Minstrels appears to no longer be kept by the blogkeeper.  A Poem a day with commentary and if the numbers are any indications there are on the site something on the order of 2000 poems discussed.  So I can see the link as a kind of annotated anthology.  Go, enjoy.

I'm deeply grateful to be included on the list , but entirely undeserving.  I recognize that I do nothing remotely like the true work involved in literary criticism--mine is a light touch-and-go; however, I am, I repeat both flattered and entirely grateful to have this small contribution to the arts recognized. My thanks to the list-makers and to all of you who stop by each day to read.  And now I have a resource and recourse to go to so that I may add to my own reading lists.  Another reason to be grateful.

Has awarded the prize for best first novel .  And it does look like one that would be most interesting to read. I have one of the nominee's (Yiyun Li) novels on my short "to read list" based on the magnificent collection of short stories A Thousand Years of Good Prayers.
