Osamu Dazai Reviewed
Osamu Dazai's Blue Bamboo
I can't tell from context whether this is even still in print yet--but it out to be--along with most of the rest of Dazai. Because he has not the prominence of Kawabata, Mishima, Oe, or Yoshimoto and Murakami, Dazai isn't much pushed foward in translation--and that is a loss, I suspect, for all of us. From what I've read, there is much in the oeuvre worthy of consideration.
