Recall that Andrei Rublev was on the list of 100 top films, I recently referenced here.
Stalker

ReplyDeleteDear Fred,
ReplyDeleteI've seen Andrei Rublev, but have not had the pleasure of Stalker, so I suppose I must take the time to seek it out and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteIf you are interested, you might also read the novel that _Stalker_ was loosely based on--_Roadside Picnic_ by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. It's a short novel, approximately only 150 pages. I did a writeup on both.

Steven

ReplyDeleteA more recent novel with a related theme--an area where weird things happen and weird things are found-- is M. John Harrison's _Nova Swing_.
