Jim Thompson Profile

The Killer Inside Me as a movie.

As nasty a piece of noir as you're ever likely to read--makes James M. Cain look like lollipops and roses.  Jim Thompson also gave us the novel from which the movie The Grifters was made.  I'm not certain that I would like to see The Killer Inside Me on the big screen for all the usual reasons--but here it is.

Note:  I didn't say it earlier, but I love Jim Thompson's work.  I think I have the majority of what he wrote in the fecund period mentioned in the review article.  He is noirest of the noir.  And he writes quite well.
