"When I Said Autumn, Autumn Broke" Elizabeth Jennings

I'm with the blogger at First Known When Lost--October is my favorite month.  First in the north where the changing of the leaves was the signal--then in Virginia and Ohio (still North to me) when the apple harvest, with Jonathans, Stamen, and Winesaps all rushed in in their bounty.  And now in Florida, where the songbirds return and their sweet melody peppers the air, and the ibis and the egrets in their throngs roam the lawns and roost in the trees.  There is so much of beauty and sadness together.
