Seasonal Favorite?
Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising
I don't think of this as a seasonal read, but that's probably because I don't remember the detail. But I do remember loving the series. This is the one most people started on even though two preceded it--Over Sea, Under Stone and Greenwitch. For those interested in the realm of fantasy who have not yet encountered this remarkable series, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Written for young adults/children, it is far more compelling than most adult fiction. (In general children and YA will put up with a lot less nonsense than will an adult reading the same material. Much to be said for such grounded common sense about reading.)
