But We've Always Done It That Way

A gorgeous show of luddite thinking.

Paraphrased--rather than embracing the new technology and making materials available at reduced cost both to us and to the consumer, we prefer to support and push the old methods of pulping, printing, and inventory, which cost an arm and a leg and have led to the present situation of the publishing industry as it stands today.

I love books.  I love publishers, but the reasoning here is, at best tortured, and at worst clinging to the worst possible reason to continue a bad practice, the world famous, "But we've always done it that way."
